The Space Between the Gods who Sing (Original)
if by then you've reached your fears -
if by then you've said your piece
and made your mark upon the feast?
knowing what you've done since then?
that your point could never last
so that now we've gone from how to when.
with stuttering mind repeating this dread
could you believe you had instead
lived a life and not just bled?
if by then the world has ceased -
if by then we've been released
to sojourn to some greater feast?
spoken from that darker rage
that sings as clear as stone can sing
to echo in each age.
understand quite well the scheming things
that time and air and space and life
clandestinely conspire to bring.
while we are ground to dusted waste
and of us throughout time they'll sing
of the folly of the human race.
