Kim Jong-un Attends First Ever Kpop Concert in North Korea
K-pop idol Red Velvet performed their song "Red Taste" and "Bad Boy" at the East Pyongyang Grand Theater in North Korea on April 1st.
The concert “Spring is coming” was a pre-event of the South-North summit that scheduled on 27th this month, and was also return visit event for the Samjiyeon Orchestra's performance in South Korea last February. A total of 11 South Korean singers performed, but Red Velvet was the only idol group included.
South Korean delegation performed on April 1st, and a joint performance between South and North Korea on the 3rd. However, Kim Jong-un only attended the first day. This is the first time that a top North Korean leader attended an exclusively South Korean concert.
The theater was filled with North Korean officials, foreigners living in North Korea, and North Korean citizen.

North Korean audiences watched the performance quietly. There was an audience member who smiled in the middle of the performance, but most of them watched with a strict and serious face. They didn’t seem to know how to react to the unfamiliar music. However, when the stage was over, they responded with a big applause.
How did Red Velvet feel about performing in front of North Koran people? From the interview, Red Velvet said this.
"The audience gave us applause more than I thought.", "It was a better reaction than I thought. ", "The audience was smiling, so I could do my best", "I was out of breath and then they laughed and gave me an applause. I could see the audience face well."
Kim Jong-un said a concert titled "Autumn Comes" should be held in Seoul around the fall, according to the South Korean media.

During the concert, Kim showed his interest by asking about songs and lyrics to the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea Mr.Do.

After the performance, he shared the greetings and took photos with the casts as well.
I was so curious about how the North Koreans would react to a Korean girls group wearing short shorts and dancing freely. They stared at Red Velvet like unsmiling robots. It kind of made me feel sad and feel sorry for them
What do you think about their reaction?
