A dark ugly evil bird-like creature perched on a pole, what could be seen radiating was its charming white eyes from a distance . It stared at its victims with vicious hatred as they drove closer in the dark.
"Did You See that!" Alex pointed at a pole but the creature disappeared before Mike could see it. They both got so scared and had to accelerate the car. The journey was a lonely one on a dark far path. Just as they covered a few more poles, their headlamps that were flashy dimmed automatically.
"Alex, the headlamps are blur, what's happening?" Mike observed and slowed down since clear vision was partially impaired.
"I don't really feel well on this journey. Since we started driving on this path, neither have we met any car nor bike. This is unusual for such a busy road like this. "Alex broke the silence.
"see! Who's that? Is like a woman", Mike saw a figure in front, a few poles away just as the strength of the dimming headlamps could carry. The evil bird-like creature turned into a limping figure from afar.
"Mike, how come she's the only person that we could see in this lonely and dark path? I feel differently, let's speed up.... Mike, I'm truly not myself ", Alex was engulfed with fear, yet they were still approaching the unidentified limping figure in front, at each pole passed, their headlamps got dimmer.
" it is a woman, she looked robbed, raped and wounded. But we aren't gonna help. Those that victimized her may still be around this thick forest". Alex said as they passed her.
The figure was a young pretty fair limping lady, with bruises all over her that was struggling to escape death. Suddenly, Mike stopped the car after a few poles were covered.
"Guy, what was that for!? Don't tell me you stopped because of that wounded limping fair lady? Guy, this place isn't safe. Please match on", Alex advised, looking around with greater mixed feelings.
"she's wounded, helpless, hopeless, and mere struggling with life. If we leave her, certainly, she'll bleed to death. Let's pick her up and take her to the nearest hospital, simple! " Mike said, putting the car on reverse and tracing the figure to the very point they drove pass her. On getting there, they remained in the car for some 30minutes contemplating on whether or not to get down.
The very picture of a dark evil bird-like creature Alex saw was still staring on his face and beating on his memories . For him, their decision of good Samaritan was a death trap. He felt so different but was persuaded by Mike to give a helping hand to an unidentified wounded and limping victim.
"what's your name!? " Mike asked with great fear as he rolled the side screen down. The lady looked up from where she was lying and didn't respond, pretending to be very wounded and tired.
"what's your name, young woman? " Alex thundered, shining a torch at her and the torch ray automatically dimmed on getting to her.
The truth about demons is that their DNAs are usually distorted by light. Their movement and influence are usually limited under the covers of light. So, that's why only a few spirits travel by day while a host of others move and operate in darkness.
"I'm Adaugo, the daughter of Mr. Mgbe. I came from a far village but was attacked by some strangers. Please, don't let me die. Help me", she deceptively pleaded continuously with her face bent down.
It was evident that Adaugo was never alone that night. The very arena was surrounded by forces of the graves. So many demons gathered in the air, some landed on the dark road while majority was perching on the trees. But their victims wouldn't see them. They were blood thirty creatures, who were busy rolling their long tongues at the sight of fresh blood. Enough blood they all thought.
Alex and Mike were the only creatures that were human on that lonely and dark path. For the spirits, Mike and his friend, Alex, were seen as food for the night. The first food of the century. The mysterious pot was getting ready to be occupied with fresh blood. It is important to note that all demons suck blood. Some suck the blood of animals when human blood is not available.
The mystery about human blood is not actually on its taste but on its power. When human blood is sucked, older witches and wizards get younger and dry demons get moist. This is the mystery about blood energy. Without blood in the kingdom of darkness, stronger demons will feed on weaker demons till that point when only the strongest demon emerges, this very surviving demon will have the shortest life span to stay operational. In order not to permit demonic extinction, millions of blood sucking demons are sent into the earth and the soul of Adaugo who died 12 years and was long buried was manipulated by higher forces to carry out this blood sucking assignment.
"Let me go help her, " Mike told Alex, touching the handle of the car door" just wait a minute! Mike, are you out of your mind!? Are you going down for real? I'm not going down with you, I'm not" ,Alex was so scared and refused to step out of the car,
As soon as Mike stepped out, suddenly he........
