What if it was a gift? - A catalyst for positive change.

in #story7 years ago

Last weekend, me any my friends were driving home from solstice fest in country-side. Unfortunately our car broke down and we got stranded in a little village - Engure (google it up if u please) in Latvia. Our car had broken generator and could not power the battery, so we asked the locals for help. We got lended a USSR battery charger from 1980's. So it needed a while to charge our battery.

This is how it looked, it's a pharmacy from 1929.

What if it was a gift?

We were left with several hours to explore the little village and so we did. We went to the sea through a park full of ponds, when we reached the sea, we noticed a Swan couple with their 7 babies, I've never seen baby swans before, so it was a pleasant experience for me.

Later, in the distance, we noticed an old rocky pier, without hesitation we went to jump the rocks till the end of it. Tough the weather wasn't the best, the view was still very beautiful for Eastern European sea.

Here's my buddy Arturs at the end of the pier flexing, I'm almost certain he'll join the Steemit community quite soon, he has a lot of great stories and thoughts to share with us.

Additionally to thank the owner of the house and power generator, we bought some fish from him as a Thank you! Here's my buddy @iamalpaca with a pointy fish!

The Philosophy behind the phrase

The phrase: “What if it was a gift?”
Whatever happens to you, no matter how bad, no matter how bleak you feel. Ask yourself, “What if it was a gift?” And then try to apply it on any situation or question to catalyst it for a positive change. Because in life, where emotions are considered as the one of most important values we humans posses, you can draw whatever conclusions you want. So why not choose the positives? And view the world through positivity?
We were stranded in a village for several hours, but the hours were well worth it in the end, we had great time together and I'd say it was a lot better than an every day drive home. :)
