Vincent is in Binic, Part 2/3, by @vincentleroy (translated from French)

in #story6 years ago (edited)

This is an authorized translation in English of a post in French by Vincent Le Roy (@vincentleroy): Vincent est à Binic (épisode 2/3)

As my primary language is not English, there are probably some mistakes in my translation.

Remember that the person who speaks here is NOT me, Vincent Celier (@vcelier), but Vincent Le Roy (@vincentleroy), a French guy.

Vincent came to spend the weekend in Binic, from the network to Steemit to real life
Part 2

Past the Saint Quay passes, the wind begins to rise and we send the genoa. The idea is even to go behind the island of Mauve. Fact, here we are at Gwin Zegal under a radiant sun. For those who do not know, it is a rare port accessible only by the cliff (and what a cliff!) With wooden piles to fix the boats! In short, a magical place. Slow down, we descend the anchor. It's good, we are posed and we can prepare for lunch! The fishing was lean but the single mackerel is of good size!

Lighted stove, I cook steak and bulgur and millet. For me it will be a sandwich with saucisson sec. The two friends enjoy my fresh Chardonnay. For me it will be zero coke, I became abstinent again. It is 14:30 and the coffee is perfect before resuming our way as the wind has risen. Philippe makes the decision to definitely remove the spinnaker and we lift the anchor!

Direction Saint-Quay, heading west, in two tacks we can be there. Sails lined up, I explain the interest of the penons to Vincent. These are small strands of wool that must be parallel when your sail is perfectly adjusted; if it is not the case, it is not optimal.

There the wind is good, the boat teases 4.5 knots. We start to feast. Twenty minutes later, tack, with three who know how to do it, it takes two seconds! And in focus the lighthouse of Saint-Quay. There is only to stay the course! And enjoy! Curiously, I took a speaker but we will not listen to music. Each of us tells anecdotes. And the atmosphere is very good!

Around 17:30, we are at the port. On the VHF, I introduce myself and the port welcomes us. We will be at pontoon 2727. Philippe decided to go to pontoon to 2728! Very funny! And the two Vincent make him understand that he should "maneuver, reverse, we want the 2727". It worked. Five minutes later the boat is in its place. The port cashes the night. 16 euros. We will come back for it tomorrow morning. Summary storage. And with Vincent's car we go back to Binic at "L'Atelier", a bar that serves snacks. Two mixed boards for Phil and me, seaweed prepared for Vincent. All in the sun. The perfect day in a way.

As soon as we are at my house, I cooked leeks, onions and tofu on the wok, that we swallow quickly while continuing our anecdotes. Tomorrow we leave at 8:45! So everyone goes to bed. The next day everyone is unanimous: the time to fall asleep is in seconds for the three of us!

The day exhausted us but by 5:30, I'm already up! Looking forward to return. to sailing
