I fell in love with Paris! #1 STphotochallenge - Sunrise and Sunset - Paris Charms

in #stphotochallenge7 years ago (edited)

A little over a year ago I had the pleasure to live and work in Paris. Although I had been to France on holiday when I was little, I was never drawn to the language or country. Until I stepped of the train and took my first ever picture in Paris. I didn't even notice the Eiffel tower hidden in the back, until I started editing on a big screen. Everything about this picture is magical for me. Maybe it's the suns reflection in the water, maybe it's the detail of the fountain, the water or maybe even the shape of the clouds. I can stare at this picture for hours and feel truly satisfied about capturing this moment. It was spontaneous and perfect.

On my days off I took the train to central Paris and started doing all the stereotypical tourist things there is to do in Paris. One of the first things I did was visiting the highly impressive Palais Garnier Opera House, opened in 1875 and designed by Charles Garnier for Emporer Napoleon III. It felt truly breathtaking walking through such large buildings with extremely detailed architecture. The Opera House especially made an impact on me as I am a performer too and had studied these incredible choreographers like Jerome Robbins in school.

Continuing my touristic journey by foot it felt like I had entered a painting lost in time, filled with art and history. There was so much to see and experience. From the vowels on the street, to the random fountains around the city. There was a great vibe and urge to enjoy life with a coffee on a terrace. I got given a rose by a stranger and tried to order a croissant in french. I could stare and appreciate some sights for hours.

The art in Paris is everywhere, around every corner, it is within the people and their food. Paris is a very unique Europe city and definitely has got its charms. It is a perfect gateway for a romantic weekend to just walk and appreciate life. I truly fell in love with Paris!

Paris is indeed an amazing city, both in terms of arts, museums, events, etc. The only problem is really living there :)
