Strawberries or what?

Last year we had kale, beans, tomatoes, and peppers in these two beds. my husband decided to plant in the ground this year and we bought some strawberry plants for the elevated beds. This is what came up. Looks more like asparagus, but I have no idea what it really is. I do know that is not strawberries. but we did have a few voluntary beans come up that seem to be doing ok. Anyone have an idea what we actually planted? The fern like plant was suppose to be strawberries.
