2nd year as a student in Indonesia

The feeling of choosing the wrong major is just a syndrome. Truly. In our country, whether you love it or not, there is no favorite major that guarantees success. Many lectures are often held no more than as a continuation of high school. You come to class, be nice to the lecturer, then graduate. Thank God if the grades are excellent. Whether you want to work or study again, the campus doesn't care. This is reality. Look for yourself in the classes you attend. Aren't you sitting in the neatly arranged benches and preparing to see the lecturer teach dogmatically? Even some lecturers teach without really understanding what they are teaching. However, college is not junior high school or elementary school. You cannot expect to be able to wait for knowledge to be "transferred" from lecturers to you. You are responsible for the knowledge itself. You are the one who has to learn from many things and sources. Visit the library and read good books there. Often books are better than lectures. Take advantage of the campus internet access to open yourself up to the issues studied by your study field. Indonesia is already too saturated with practical politics and identity. Get out of that cage and don't get lost in it. Are all you receive in class true? Then, ask: Why are students in universities called "students", not just "students"? Exploit all of that, because knowledge is not money or oil and gas. Knowledge will always bear fruit if it is dug, mined, and absorbed. Therein lies what is called idealism formed and honed. What was originally just passion, is transformed radically into a calling and purpose in life. Therefore, do not be afraid to live alone even though you study to study the reality around you, whether social, cultural, artistic, or natural and technological. The knowledge that is studied is to help humans solve their problems even though it seems very theoretical and "abstract".
