Studying at ETH Zürich: 6 simple studying tips, which will help you pass every exam
Hello Steemians, I am a student at one of the best schools in the world, the ETH Zürich. You probably can imagine it sometimes gets hard to maintain my Work-Life-Balance. So how do I do it? Here are my top 6 tips for not ending up as much stressed as the poor girl this stock photo:
- Don't listen to others how you have to study. (including these tips ;)) Find it out yourself and keep changing if it doesn't work out. Ask higher Semester students for help, or what their learning method was.
- Do the exercises. Also solve old exams before the finals.
- Find a good workspace reachable within 10 minutes from your home. Admit it: If you have to rely on this post, you can't study at home efficiently. Also leaving your home gives you a sense of accomplishement at the end of the day.
- Don't be fixated on learning material goals to much. It is demotivational if you worked a whole day and achieved nothing. Better be fixated on strict working hours. (Don't forget pauses!) It is very motivating if you can say you worked 8 or 10 hours straight. It's easier to then relax at home and not let the stress affect your private life.
- Write a (handwritten) summary of the subject. Use it to solve exercises and old exams.
- A month - or whatever time seems reasonable for the size of the exam - Plan every day before the exam and what you do on each day. (Don't forget the fun stuff again)
Good luck with your finals!
