Key to success?

What is the key to success? the age old question asked by Scholars, Philosophers, Artists, Blue collar workers and more. I might not be very successful (yet) but i can guarantee that these tips will help you if you apply them just as they are starting to help me as i begin to apply them.

1. (Focus on the quality of your work) I am a musician and like most musicians I dream of a life where i wouldn't have to labor for my food; but i wasn't able to progress until i stopped thinking about the perks of success and more about the work that'll get me there.

2. (Take calculated risks) I was recently talking to a friend a mine who is a fashion designer who was troubled with going to school for something he was void of passion for. I convinced him to change his major and he is now thriving, meeting like-minded individuals and growing as an artist. No dream is attainable without risk and whether it may be skipping college to pursue a dream (yeah i said it) or switching your major to something you actually want to do, there are certain risks that'll be a defining moment for your career.

3. (Its ok to not have everything figured out, breathe.) Most successful people didn't achieve success at 18 19 or 20. It is perfectly normal to feel lost in your late teens and early twenties. Take the energy, creativity and fearlessness you have while young to try different things and find things you're passionate about. Go to conventions, meet small business owners and entrepreneurs, go to concerts, wander and soak up the magic of your community and i guarantee you everything else will be added.
