I just can’t believe it is going to flower already!!

Look how small it is!

It is very small plant even when mature, but this one is still a baby, only one year old. One year and few months.

When I replanted it in mineral mix this year, I was surprised, it already has a small caudex. And the biggest seedling has a flower bud now. I’m not sure have I missed the flower or it just won’t open it fully. No matter what the answer is, I feel very happy, absolutely thrilled.

Till now, it doesn’t seem to me as a difficult plant to grow, although is not common in collections. Only patience is needed.

I ever wait that caudex to grow!
😊

How excited I am and impatient can be, I will find all the patience needed to wait for it.

Does the flower last only 4h too?
My ones is supposed to bloom for 4h only. I am almost sure I am gonna miss it :p

I know that they bloom only few hours. Anacampseros are also short bloomers but they bloom abundantly, so I see their flowers eventually. But I like the plant as it is...

How lovely!
Be sure to show then a photo of the flowering of this plant, I'm very interested!

Thank you! If I catch it, I will.

They only bloom for a few hours so they are very easy to miss, same as anacampseros. I have Avonia recurvata and it's also tiny

Last year I have rooted one Av. papyracea offshoot and I have Av. alstonii - only few months old :), but Av.recurvata didn't germinate to me, sadly. I will have to try again.
I like Avonias and Anacampseros very much.

I find them very attractive too

People have gone a lot in science and technology, but in today's great technology age, it is not possible for us to make another pyramid or another Taj Mahal. As people, we have limitations and this limit has always been won by people by matching with the nature. Because people knew from time immemorial, we have nothing to do with the magnitude of nature.
