Sugar House Photos

I finally finished adding labels to my pictures of the new construction in the Sugarhouse District of Salt Lake City.

I've found that adding labels to photos takes more time than taking photos and it isn't very fun. I have a hard drive full of photos that I've taken through the years which I haven't uploaded.

Apparently, the current approach to construction is for developers to buy up the land in a redevelopment region. They tear down all of the old buildings and build a completely new town. This is happening in Sugarhouse.

The first photo is a clock tower that sits between the parking lot and new buildings.

The building in the distance is a health Center by the University of Utah Medical System.

I've noticed that University Medical centers are expanding rapidly around the US. I prefer receiving health care from independent practitioners. The progressives I know always prefer care from the facilities in the State run university hospitals. I guess they imagine it is the care we will all receive when we have socialism.

The building in Sugarhouse is really pretty.

This next picture is an office tower behind the medical center. I did not see brand names on the building: #gpsphoto: 40.720396,-111.855613

This photo shows the office tower from the back side:

This project looks like a new apartment complex on the East side of new office tower:

The area also sports a brand new Spring Hill Suites which is an extended stay brand by Marriott:

Perhaps my favorite picture is the wonderful tiny house that houses a candy shop. The tiny house is on pallets; so I question the business's long term commitment to the community. NOTE: I put up a different set of photos of Sugarhouse on a different blog.
