SUPERFOODS... What Are They -- Why You Should Eat Them

There are still a lot of questions, concerning Superfoods… Because there is no real definition. Savvy marketers, have jumped on the bandwagon and muddied-up the waters, as only they can do, so well… "Superfood" is the perfect buzzword. I mean, really.., if a marketer can't market something called a superfood -- maybe they should consider doing something else for a living.

But others will tell you.., they don't exist. The lack of sufficient studies and the promised health claims, has led them down the path of -- scam.., or maybe just gilding the lily, a bit too much. And then, we take into consideration.., the fact that the medical profession is in the pocket of the drug companies… Along with the fact that government "healthcare" costs reached 17.5% of GDP.., and it is projected to grow to a fifth of the whole economy by 2025.

So, we already know.., listening the gov't and even, yes.., the medical profession -- is dubious, at best… They would definitely not be the place to go for some information on superfoods. It is in their best best interest to keep us sick.., they practically ensure some kind of chronic disease will effect, just about each and every one us. But that's a whole other post in itself!

So WTF are Superfoods..?

Well.., hold-on -- I will tell you what they are, clear up some well placed confusion on the subject. But first, I think it will help if you know what they are not… While the foods, that are not superfoods (not just my humble opinion) are still very good, healthy foods -- they just don't quite hit the level of Superfood.

We all know, omega-rich salmon, can taste exquisite if prepared properly.., it's also pretty good for the heart -- they say. And blueberries are great -- I love them in oatmeal, smoothies or right out of the basket… But, their prowess as the antioxidant diva with claims of huge amounts of, specifically the anthocyanins ones -- don't convert when ingested.., they have little to no antioxidant effect after digested (sorry to tell you that). Referred to as the -- Food and Medicine of the future


The best definition of a Superfood (since they say, there is no definition, huh?)… A Superfood is both a food and a medicine. They not only meet, but exceed all our protein ambitions and go well beyond any guidelines for vitamins and minerals.

Beyond all the tangible elements superfoods possess -- the polysaccharides, betaine, sesquiterpenes, antioxidants and trace minerals. Beyond.., raising serotonin, alkalizing the body, strengthening the immune system.., and I haven't even mentioned the wonders it can do for your sexuality.., all this backed by actual science.

But beyond all that.., beyond all the facts and figures -- science has yet to understand how the abundance of these synergistic elements work in unison with the human body, due to their natural state -- these are the foods our bodies were meant to eat.

We have only scratched the surface.., when it comes to the rejuvenating and healing properties of our choice of food. We all know, the average American diet is crap. The food fed to the masses is crap. Most of the population exceeds the recommended levels of added (added means this was added to.., not naturally occurring) sugars (bad sugars), saturated fats (horrible fats), and sodium (nasty). Three-fourths don't enough vegetables, fruits, dairy, and oils.

And that's just the tip of the, lack of nutrition -- iceberg.


With obesity, coming up on record levels -- nearing a freakin' epidemic… Cancer, heart disease, and diabetes continue to thrive. Prescription drug use is way up.., and besides our battle with painkillers… Many believe it's our poor diets driving up the use, creating a never-ending cycle of "sickness." And depression is at -- all time highs…

OF COURSE IT IS… LOOK AT THE CRAP WE PUT IN OUR BODIES!


So, should you add Superfoods to your diet..? YES.

But if you listen to the masses, go the way of the sheep… We wind up with some chronic disease, that's been caused by the lack of nutrition, refined and processed foods.., and, oh yeah -- prescription drugs. Avoiding this hopeless fate, is not as difficult, as you might think…

Just by eliminating certain things we know are "bad" and adding some things we now know are good. And in the case of superfoods… Not just good -- SUPER. We are well on our way to lifestyle of limitless possibilities and boundless accomplishment. All supported, enhanced and encouraged, by what we are putting in our bodies.

Too many people have become complacent with their chronic conditions -- "Oh, my blood pressure is too high." "My back is killing me." "I wish I could drop a few pounds." And don't change a thing in their life to actually address these issues. It freaks me out! Look… I have beat the hell out of my body, most of my adult life (with some time off for good behavior)… And even with all the "illegal" substances floating around in there -- I have tried to counter balance it, with foods (superfoods) and herbs -- to keep me off my back.

Once all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients (which will now be absorbed properly and much more dramatically), start to set-up shop inside that garbage dump you've been calling your body… You start to notice subtle (some not so subtle) differences in your life. Your body moves, with much more ease. Your energy levels have increased. Sexually, you're an animal (lol). Even your attitude is better.

Superfoods, like so many other "alternative" things -- connect you to this earth. They put you in touch with the cosmos.., and they give you your body back. There is science behind this -- there are studies to reference. But like so many other things, that can free us from their grip -- they will just discredit such methods with the proper propaganda of the time.., in the hopes of keeping us in there never-ending cycle of "healthcare" I mean "sickcare."

Here's a few Superfoods you should add to your diet, now:

Coconuts: I was not kidding earlier, when I said -- "Pick up a coconut." In Sanskrit the coconut palm is known as - kappa vriksha "the tree that supplies all that is needed to live." Young coconut water is basically identical to human blood plasma.., and during wartime has been used as a transfusion, right out of the shell.

They just don't hit the mark of Superfood. I mean, if you want to be considered Super.., you gotta up your game!

Thanks @ericvancewalton... I've seen people lives completely changed just by adopting a diet more adaptable for the human body. Instead of the stress and burden a normal American diet puts on your body and organs... Certain foods (superfoods) not only alleviate that burden.., but encourage rejuvenation and growth. My next post will address "ignorance." LOL!

Sooo what you're saying is that i can keep making my strawberry/banana smoothies with coconut milk and call it a semi -super smoothie?

You sure can -- I love strawberry / banana smoothies :)) But if you want to kick-it up a notch.., you can add some raw, organic cacao nibs, maybe some almond butter. Another tip for smoothies: add a tablespoon of coconut oil and maca.., and you'll start to feel like a damn Superhero. CHEERS!

In much the same way phamaceutical companies try to profit, the "superfood" companies will say the same lies to profit. Thing is there is no such thing as superfoods my friend. It's bullshit.

The foods you mention are just good, healthy foods. They are not in any way "super".

Truth is, the market, whether local, corporate or governmental is waiting with a 10 inch strap on to fuck you up the ass. it doesn't care. You just have the choice to believe one narrative over another.

You forgot the most healing food on all the planet is the WILD blueberry. It is only grown in Canada and USA and is completely different to the normal blueberry.
