Superstitious people

In my experience, it doesn't help when you try to give them facts and figures to prove that their superstition is irrational and illogical.

My mother is superstitious and she doesn't believe me when I try to convince her that superstitious beliefs aren't real.

The reason for this belief is that they have been living for a very long time and that they are very strong and that they feel uncomfortable to hear that they will not last too long, to frighten them and cause cognitive dissonance.

Therefore, to avoid being hurt, they try to avoid these facts and make sure that you feel safe in this way, even if you try to assimilate them.
