Be Gun Safety Savvy
If you already own a fire arm you should already know how to safely handle and care it it. If you are looking to buy a firearm then you really need to educate your self on the proper way to clean and store your guns.
When doing this dont cheap out on it. Having the right equipment could be the deciding factor when you need it the most.
A basic gun cleaning kit should consist of a set of brushes, cloths, and some solvents that will remove gunk and residue with will stick to the barrel and bolt area. Over time the buildup of these substances cam make a firearm not only difficult to use but very unsafe.
Keep it clean and in good working order and it will be an item that will last long after your gone. When not in use firearms should be placed somewhere safe and secured. Out of reach of others, especially children. Invest in a gun safe or a lock system for the trigger or barrel. If it is not for security or home protection store the firearms unloaded.
Lastly remember the basics. Always treat the gun as if it was loaded. Point down and away from people. Know what is behind or beyond your target. And depending on where you are in the world there is probably gun safety classes and training's for everyone.
