Sweet Jane movie
This is a very retro and very independent film if you know what I mean. The movie was made in 1998 and starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Samantha Mathis. This story was very strong and well put. Its about a drug addict named Jane (Samantha Mathis) and a sick boy named Tony ( Joseph Gordon-Levitt). The was they interacted in this film was priceless. It felt as if they were really two different people who just met up on the streets. Aside from the acting they made this film more real than expected. The film was hard to find online even on Kodi. I had to order it on Amazon for $24.00 but it was worth every cent. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a great actor hands down and really made a great impression on this movie. The movie itself reached out to me not because I do all sort of drugs but because I smoke a lot of weed and just how Jane had a hard time quitting I have a hard time trying to quit as well. It was inspiring to me because Jane was so addicted to shooting up and causing trouble to everyone and Tony the guy that she met was always taking care of her even when she didn't deserve it. And eventually after Jane realized that this kid is bending over backwards for her that she starts to show appreciation to him. And keep in mind Jane was about 25 and Tony was 15. Tony and Jane seemed to have a blast together despite all the prostitution and drug addiction. And Jane wanted to give more to Tony as they hung around together. Tony and Jane end up making love and tony also had his first beer in the hotel they were in. The end of the story Tony was dying because he didn't keep up with his medication and Jane stressed that she should take him back to the clinic but he refused and say "I will die in there! I want to die with you". It was very strong and emotional to hear that part. Jane ended up stealing a car from some nerdy dude and took tony to this lake he has been wanting to see. As they are going Tony shows more and more signs of him dying. So they find a small boat when they get to the lake and drift off for a little. Once they got out further Jane gave Tony a hit of heroine which soothed his pain but dies because of his sickness. The movie was astounding , sad, inspirational, relative and just an all around great story. If you ever get to watch this hard to find movie you will see how real acting is portrayed. Samantha Mathis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are great actors alone and them together in a story like this was sheer amazement!
