La Candelaria is a popular celebration celebrated by Catholics, which celebrates the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, the Purification of the Virgin after childbirth and the Virgin of Candelaria, Marian advocation appeared in Tenerife (Canary Islands), southwest of Spain , in the fifteenth century. It takes place on February 2, Candelaria Day, and in some places (Canary Islands, Campillos, Palencia, Valls ...) it lasts for several days, usually for being the patron saint of the place.
In Mexico, get used to eating tamales, as a celebration, and in general those who brought doll in the day of kings to split the thread are those who invite these tamales to their friends or family.
