Tarot Tuesday weekly reading for October 8th 2019

in #tarottuesday5 years ago

Happy Tarot Tuesday! Welcome to another one of my weekly tarot card readings. I started posting these free readings monthly back in late 2015, and switched to weekly in early 2016. They are by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. The reading today is for the week of October 8th 2019.

But before I get started, I thought I'd give everyone a little bit of an update on why I'm being relatively quiet across my social media accounts at the moment. As I mentioned in my Feathered Friday post, hubby had surgery on his shoulder for a torn rotator cuff on the 4th. While the procedure itself went off without a hitch, the recovery is much more intense and painful than we anticipated.

Needless to say, our 30th wedding celebration yesterday was very lowkey, and involved lots of ice packs, pain meds, and television. Nothing special to eat, because his appetite isn't wonderful at the moment. I didn't even crack open the bottle of Ballatore Gran Spumante we got months ago (which is technically sparkling wine, not champagne, but it's the yummy deliciousness we picked to have at our reception), since alcohol doesn't play nice with his post-op medications.

However, we decided that once he can properly raise his right arm to toast, we'll figure out some special way to celebrate our three decades of wedded bliss. For now though, since my attention will be focused on helping hubby heal, I'll only be online in fits and starts. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon, and I'll be sure to shout out as things progress.

So enough of the offline update - now it's on to the reading! Since mine are a little different than some other readers on other social media (although it's by no means original - I was actually inspired by a couple other WordPress bloggers), here's a quick rundown on how this works...

First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three!

When you've decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.

Also, don't be worried if you don't happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊

I should also mention...

Here are the backs of the cards for this reading for the week of October 8th 2019 (and yes, it's a new picture every week). Take a moment to center yourself and focus. When you're ready, look at the photo, and decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. After that, scroll down to the bottom of the post for your message.

Now, to make sure you don't see the picture of the front of the cards before you've made your choice, I'm putting a graphic here as a bit of a spacer/spoiler prevention. Since Halloween is fast approaching, I thought I'd share this infographic I created for a repost of an article I wrote for the SheKnows website in 2015. It's called, 5 Witchy ways to celebrate Halloween

Time now to reveal the front of the cards! Here's the picture...

...and my messages for each card are...

1. Ace of Swords

Time for challenges. You've had an "AHA!" moment. Now is the moment to pick up the sword, and cut the deadwood out of your life. It might not be easy to face the truth, but you're up for the task, and you know what needs to be done. As Buffy said to all the potential slayers, "So here's the part where you make a choice: What if you could have that power now? ...make your choice. Are you ready to be strong?"

Tarot Tidbit: The Ace of Swords was last spotted, in the third position just a couple months ago on August 13th, 2019.

2. The Hierophant

The Mystic. When you're in the middle of a crisis, and you feel like you're all alone, this card is a reminder that all of your ancestors, your community, your family (blood or chosen) are still there with you, even if you can't see or feel them. I like to think of this as the Mr. Miyagi card - someone who steps in and teaches you the knowledge you need to stop the bullies. Sometimes though, this card shows up for me when I get a little too wrapped up in the "right" and traditional way of doing something. It means I need to remember to honor the spirit of the ritual, and not sweat the details.

Tarot Tidbit: The Hierophant was last seen, in the first position, just a couple of weeks ago on September 24th, 2019.

3. Justice

Time for some balance. You’re out of whack. You’re spending too much time on one side of the scale – lots of thinking, but little doing; focusing on spiritual, but not physical; loads of time for work but nothing for play. It’s time to bring things back into balance. It might not be easy to take action, get exercising, say "no" or pass up some overtime – however it is what’s needed. Try to get the balance right.

Tarot Tidbit: Justice was last spotted, in the second position, also just a couple months ago on August 27th, 2019.

This is always a fun read. I've always wondered what I'd get to have one done in person.

Hope your husband is feeling better soon and life gets back to some normalcy for you!

Urgh! That rotator cuff is an awful op. A friend in the village had it last year. Oww! Congratulations on 30 years - what a feat!

Seems like a few of us are more off than online at the moment.

C'est la vie

Here's to health and recovery!

Oh, Happy belated and I hope the hubby is turning that corner. The torn rotator cuff is painful! The surgery is too and whoever told you otherwise is a big fat liar! LOL

I picked #1 - where to cut!???

Love to you!

Oy Vay! My card is not in there.
"Beware of overdoing" hahaha.
Hope you and the hubby are coping Lady Traci, we know what it is as we also battled for the first couple of months after my op.
I was given 3 years for full rehabilitation and now almost in the 3rd year, but still some niggling problems.

All of the best for you guys!
Blessings!
