Lunch in a Brewery [Kaltenberg]
There is a restaurant in Budapest which is named Kaltenberg. It has a tradition since 1980, and it has a German license to produce beer in real German style. As a result, here you have a restaurant with lots of traditonal Hungarian courses, combined with beer brewed on the very spot. If you decide to join in a brewery visit, you can even enjoy a look at the beer production itself and taste the unfilteted beer.
This Saturday, I had the chance of eating my lunch in Kaltenberg. I took a quick look at the menu, and decided to go for an onion soup and a main course with pork medallions and fries. The service was great, and the restaurant also seems to be very busy with quite a lot of groups, meaning that they are used to serve food quickly. This should come as a bonus if you are in a hurry. They also have an extra feature which means that if you order from the menu and throw three dices (and all become a 6), the meal has been served you entirely for free. Of course, that doesn't happen too often, but still - it is a nice plus feature!
I was quite satisfied with my meal in Kaltenberg. They have a favorite dessert of mine in the place, a raspberry strudel. This time I didn't eat it (I have to take care of my body as well), but if you ever come to the place, make sure to taste it. It is fresh, sweet, and refreshing.
The price level is quite average, just like Kazimir, another restaurant of which I recently wrote, meaning that the main courses cost around 10 Euro (some cheaper, some more expensive).
In other words, a nice place for beer lovers who want to taste dark, bright, and red beer, and maybe also an unfiltered beer in the brewery itself!
