Sinangag Express
Sinangag means fried. Sinangag Express is a fastfood restaurant with fried rice as their specialty. It is a common notion that fried rice is served for breakfast but this restaurant offers it all throughout their operating time. And this branch that I visited operates or 24 hours.
Their menu basically consists of meal sets of fried rice and egg plus different fried viands as options. The dishes are commonly called "Silog" which is a contraction of sinangag and itlog or fried rice and egg. If you are more keen on viands with soup, they have the side soup which is a separate serving and is usually the free version.
They also have set meals which they call as value meals when it includes additional cuts of the meat plus drinks.
In terms of the price, it is very reasonable for a complete meal already. Without drinks, a meal can cost as low as P75.00 or US$ 1.45. The upgraded version with more cuts of meat and drinks is P105.00 or US$ 2.03.
The dining area is not so spacious which is as expected in fastfood restaurants. The tables are also small. In spite of that, the area is neat and orderly. It is also an open area as you can see on the first photo so it can be hot or cold depending on the season.
I ordered Chosilog which is chorizo and the silog. At first I thought the chorizo is a bit burned but when I started on it, I was wrong. I think the darker color is because of the cooking oil they used but that did not changed the taste and texture anyway. It still tasted good.
I forgot to ask them to have my egg scrambled so I have to deal with it. It is fine though. It was not as bland as I expected because it looks like they sprinkled salt over it. For a price of P75.00, I think the set meal is good and fair enough.
The restaurant is located in the middle of commercial and office establishments so it is one of the run-to restaurants of many office workers and call center agents.
