District 10 restaurant and bar, Forum building 9
At first glance maybe the name of this one dinner place reminds us of one of the region's name in the movie Hunger Games. But of course there is no connection whatsoever. District 10, the franchise that is present in Medan instead is an exclusive restaurant and bar that is worth a visit.
Since it opened 4 months ago, the restaurant located at the Ground Floor of Forum 9 building is one of several "outside" F & B outlets trying to try out the fine-dining business for the upper middle class in Medan.
Last week with a friend, we finally tried lunch at this Singaporean restaurant. Upon entering, a reception staff asked about our preferred seating between a smoking or non-smoking room partitioned with a glass door. Although the outdoor area is more crowded, we decided to sit in the area of non-smoking because lured by the chic interior.
Apparently the indoor part is also split into two parts by the door insulation. Incidentally no one uses private room that day. Dozens of alcohol bottles that look neat look so sparkling, may be deliberately made dwifungsi as decoration as well as "show" to the customers that District 10 has a collection of diverse wine.
A waitress then brought two jumbo-sized menus in which a variety of local and international F & B were included. Because that day we chose the taste of Western, then the Shrimp Mie Shrimp which his waitress said, much in demand, we passed. Alternatively, we ordered one of the pastries namely Linguine in Aglio Olio and Mixed Seafood.
Servings served quite filling with a mixture of shrimp, squid, and sliced red peppers. The spicy salty taste is also fitting.
A gust of breeze between the bamboo foliage seemed to make the above fans so useless. District 10 seems to adopt an urban concept combined with natural nuances as found in places to hang out in their home country.
