Spirit of the Lion Tattoo

in #tattoo7 years ago

"Tattoo images and symbols are a way to connect with your consciousness and explore the hidden yet vital knowledge of yourself that brings about wholeness. The images, symbols, and colors you choose to imprint on your body are the materialized form of what is held in the realms of consciousness. They represent your archetypes and inner guidance." - Lisa Barretta, Conscious Ink: The Hidden Meaning of Tattoos

Sometimes people make bad decisions when they get a tattoo. Instead of a work of art that reflects important milestones in their lives, they are left with an "ink disaster" that can attract negativity. As Lisa Barretta points out, "Whatever the reason, a bad tattoo can wreck havoc in your life while you try to figure out how to cope with your ink disaster."

Fortunately for my clients, I have an intuitive skill and great success with coverups and renovations of old "regrettable tattoos". David came to me with the most challenging coverup I have tattooed to date.

David was in a position to work very closely with me and follow my suggestions which included my supervision of minor laser removal of key areas after the mapping of his soul print was inked.

David was drawn to an image of a tiger by Sneaky Studios, but after some weighing out, the Mandala Lion with a few tiger inspired touches worked better because it required significantly less laser removal.

Symbolically the lion mirrored more of the qualities that reflected David's character and personality. The lion is a great symbol of strength, courage, ferocity, fearless communication and dominion, patience, intuition and awareness, power of silence, pride, family and playfulness. The Chinese erected lion sculptures guarding entrances to gates and sacred temples because they believed lions safeguard humans from ghosts and demons. Lions is ancient Egypt safeguarded all pharoahs in the afterlife. The lion is also a symbol of the Goddess often depicted as her companion, for example Inanna standing on the backs of two female lions or Ishtar's chariot being pulled by a lion. Some people have even described beneficent extraterrestrial Lion beings from Sirius who are actively involved in humanity's spiritual evolution.

Tattoos are more than skin deep. A tattooed power animal such as a lion is an imprint or what I call a #soulprint. The etheric blueprint of an archetype, symbol or pattern is there waiting to become manifest on the skin. David's new conscious ink beautifully transmutes the scar of the old and simultaneously opens new doorways of perception and expression of his soulprint.

Wow again you have outdone yourself. What a wonderful post. That is a fantastic cover up and your explanation is just out of this world. Thank you for contributing .

Thank you very much @seareader1! I really appreciate your feedback as I am still relatively new to blogging. Although the process of planning, mapping, laser removal, healing and inking was long, this tattoo coverup is not only a great portfolio piece, it created profound changes in David's life. For me, the transformational alchemy of tattooing is without limit!

I can just imagine it is a life changing piece. That is a wonderful portfolio piece. You are a true artist in both the way you transfer what you see and what you and client have discussed and in how you describe things when explaining the meaning of that tattoo of David's.
