But who has them when you pick them up, shelters?

Shelters, dog pounds, individuals, and other dog rescue places.

I picked up one dachshund from a pound, that was supposedly put to sleep (just on paper) an hour before. That way he didn't have to charge me for the dog. I had picked up several from him before. I named him Lucky, and found him a perfect home!

Well that sounds like a wonderful hobby sir smithlabs!

It is fun to do, and satisfying! We have had a lot of good puppies here. We had one come to us that was loose in traffic, and brought him home. Dachshunds seldom come to strangers, so we Knew he knew he was in trouble!

We left our number with the pound, and his 11 year old 'boy' showed up to get him...that was Magic, he actually knocked the kid down in order to lick him! He did a very thorough licking job, ROFLOL!

Oh wow, that's a great story sir smithlabs. You finally did something good.

Well, Dachshunds are smart enough to know they are in trouble, I just love the breed. No two are alike, never boring for sure!

Willie used to invite them in, and share his food bowl; on day one, he was my greeter....

So you finally admit that they are smarter than you are?

They are smarter than Both of us put together....

SMARTER THAN BOTH OF US, LOL! But smart enough to be fun for sure.
