A Teacher on School Shootings. The Day After.
Folks ask me for answers. Why does it happen? How can we stop it? Is there hope?
They reach out with concern. What can we do?
I don't know the answers. I just get up each morning and head back to my classroom. I have 140 lives that I protect. They are all someone else's child ... except for one. When she sits in my class each day, she is not just a student, she is my daughter.
She is a daily reminder that the other 139 are precious cargo, as well.
So, when folks ask me what I think we should do, I only know one answer.
Pray.
