Work trip to Melbourne

This week i am in Melbourne :)

I have come down for a week with work, i only remember little bits of Melbourne since i haven't been here since i was a kid, my dad used to bring us down to the Air Show when we were younger. [bi yearly Avalon Air Show, from memory it was a trade show that did have 1 or 2 open to the public days, we went for his work, i loved it, i even had a fighter jet pin i wore on my school uniform collar for about a year]

Anyways! Monday was fun, its not my first time travelling for work but it is my first time using town cars and being flown somewhere, its weird not having my car.

I was up at 330 to leave at 4 for the airport. It was a very long day!! These were the cars i went from home > airport and airport > work in.

The flight was good it was rather quick, even with a 20min delay it was still less than an hour and a half, apparently there was congestion on the runway [plane traffic jam?] so we had to wait.

Miserable and raining in sydney when we left

So nice above the clouds, beautiful day! But when we got to Melbourne and back under the clouds, it was miserable, frosty and foggy lol.

Terrible picture but snow!! Snow on mountain tops, so awesome

From the airport i went straight to work, and around lunch went to check into the hotel [as it was only 5 min walk away] and then back to work - when i was finished at 6 i was ready to drop on the floor asleep right there.. i think i slept 830pm to 8am last night, so wiped out!

This is my little nest ive set up for the week at the new office, near the windows and the plants =^_^=

And my god is it cold in Melbourne! I thought Sydney was cold but Melbourne wind has this chill that is rather brutal. i set the hotel room to 26 all night, when i woke up it was 1 degree, real feel minus 2 degrees, what a shock when i walked outside! luckily i was rugged up :)

Its too cold to actually go anywhere and explore by the time i finish work, pretty sure i will just be going back to my room after work everyday instead of exploring, but im not too keen to be out by myself in the cold and dark! It is a fascinating place though id love to come back and explore it more when i have the time, if anything i might try to go see the street art in Hosier Lane when im here, if i can figure out how to get there :D

The area im in, Docklands, im not sure if it is the main city or not, it seems like Olympic Park in Sydney, a lot of sports arenas, and big buildings made up of both offices and apartments, and construction everywhere. Its very nice and clean and traffic congestion isn't really a thing.

This is the view from my hotel room, Marvel stadium is to the left, and this is next to it.

The only thing that got me was at traffic lights when you go to cross the road [walking] and when the man goes green for walking, the noise in Sydney is a beeping kind of noise, where here in Melbourne its like a clanging, metal hitting against metal, the first time it startled me i didn't know what it was, and twice after i almost missed it because i didn't pick the noise haha. It's so weird!

Cant believe im already second day in! I didn't have lunch yesterday because i spent most of it checking in, might go try find a pub lunch today :)
