Updates from #teammalaysia

As of end of August 2017, there were a lot planning and helping out new steemians getting comfortable in blogging on steemit.

Having said that we have gotten a lot of new faces, and also manage to invite existing steemians to join our innitiatives. Our #teammalaysia is now vibrant with great authors and with great ideas.

As part of our communication methods we still use Facebook and also our discord channel is now getting more active with lots more people chatting away there https://discord.gg/vnk9Rkz . On FB we are now at 175 awesome members

We had our very first #teammalaysia challenge post which had numerous great entries.

The entire challenge was to take a picture in the location of interest in Malaysia and a short writeup about that place. Here is the post on the results of the competition which was won by @elizacheng - congrats again.

In Miri @awesomianist successfully held Miri's FIRST Steemit Introductory workshop !

I do encourage everyone to participate in growing #teammalaysia as there is so much we can do collectively.

What's coming up in September 2017 for #teammalaysia

After a month of keeping my feet on the ground in August, its time to fly and reach out more. Few of the activities planned to introduce more steemians onboard are :-

• 5th September, 2017 STEEMIT Intro in Bangsar, co-organized with @francesaw
• 7th September, 2017 STEEMIT Intro in Kuching, Sarawak in collaboration with iCube innovation hub
• 9th September, 2017 STEEMIT Intro in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah in collaboration with Kadazandusun Chamber Commerce & Industry Malaysia , co-organized with @danieldoughty

There are other more meetups in the planning stages and will be announced as it gets confirmed.

Collaborations

Currently on behalf of #teammalaysia, we are in initial discussion on more collaborations with some of the great initiatives online and also offline. The idea is to ensure the growth of the community and also to provide this community a purpose. As of now, its at its initial stages of growth where posts are being upvoted and yes we do get better curation rewards. However surpassing all the monetary rewards there are greater benefits where we can support a larger cause.

With that said, once we have firmed out the collaborations, I would announce it and it would surely be beneficial to everyone in the community and encourage more to join in. All suggestions are welcome, do hit me up in the discord.
