A small Eid gathering with my fellow Team Malaysia!

in #teammalaysia6 years ago

We Malaysian don't likes foods, we LOVE them. We basically enjoy and proud of all of our foods. The range of it is literally endless, we have all the genuine and fusion food coming from all over the world. You can easily found even 'weird' combination you cant found elsewhere in the world for example; thai-japanese food, spanish-malay foods, korean-pizzas and all other unusual fusions as we Malaysian love to experiment on our foods.

Steemit Meetup.

Its the time of the year again for us Malaysian to jump from house to house for a month long feast of endless amazing foods. We practice the culture of visiting our relatives and friend's houses to strengthen our bonds during most of our festivals; The Eid, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, New Year, Christmas, you name it. Thats the beauty being one of the few a real multi-races country in the world, we embrace our multi-cultured customs together in harmony.

The Eid of we commonly called 'Hari Raya Aidilfitri' is of the biggest festival in Malaysia, as its no longer only celebrated by the Muslims in the country like other places does, it is a nationwide celebration regardless of race and religion here in Malaysia.

Ive been wanting to have a gathering for my fellow steemit friends to express my gratitude of the endless support they have been giving since my day one signing up to steemit. And i cant think of any other perfect time to do that other than this festive time. :)

As my dad (@abgmie), my brother (@harythilmy) and i were all steemians, we decided to have a simple open house to invite everyone in the Klang Valley to come and enjoy some home-cooked dishes made by my Mother.

One of the highlight of the day was my personal favourite, my Mom's Penang Laksa.

Other than the Laksa, my mom cooked her all time awesome Beef Rendang, Lasagna, Ketupat with Kuah Kacang, Tomato Rice with Chicken Curry, and not to forget the desserts, My Mom's well known layered cheesecake and chocolate fudge!

The first person to arrive was @sireh! It was a pleasant surprise because earlier he told us that he might not be able to make it but he did find some time to come thank you!

Selamat Hari Raya!!! I miss all the yummilicious awesomely good food!!! Laksa, rendang, ketupat, tomato rice... CHEESECAKE!!! Chocolate Fudge!!! OMG... Looking forward to meeting you and @abgmie again!!!

That first sentence is ON POINT!!!!! As a spiritually liberal full-on omnivore kind of guy, any celebration in Malaysia is my celebration. I take joy in putting anything edible into my tummy. Malaysia is meant for me hahahaahahha..

Hope you and your family had a wonderful and blessed Aidilfitri! Too bad I can't visit you this year as i had to jump over the pool.

  • We basically enjoy and proud of take pride in all of our foods.
