Random Musings 005: Radiate Intro

I had the privilege to be a part of the group who were in charge of organizing a sports conference in Penang. Radiate movement Penang 2018 happened on the 21st to the 23rd of March.

Radiate Movement has been going on since 2015. The initial sports conference happened in Miri, Sarawak Malaysia, organized by a girl named Lizzie chin who was partnering with the SIB church in Miri. The movement was founded by @calvinlee.

The Miri conference was a really meaningful event as the whole conference aimed to encourage and inspire young people into breaking old mindsets and learn to shine to be a better person. Thus the name Radiate which means to shine involuntarily. Wouldn't that be a great dream where people just cannot help but shine wherever they are wherever they go because of their attractive characteristics.

I believe everyone has something to contribute to the community and society. Something that makes them shine and this event aims to help young people discover it and make meaningful friendships along the way!

The event also aims to promote a framework and work ethos to churches partnering with Radiate organizers to which hopefully local churches will find the courage and lend resources and organize their own conference.

Sort of like steemit lending a helping hand to aspiring musicians, artists, entrepreneurs etc.

So yea, main reason why I was idle from steemit was because I had my day job, and after work, immediately my brain had to switch to the conference, how was the church doing, what's the next thing, do they have enough volunteers...

Planning and executing the conference is no joke. I have got to make it clear though. I did not organize the conference. I was only given the privilege to help out. The mastermind behind the planning and execution was @jesonhuang. He and his team threw a massively successful event, Check out the #radiatemovement in facebook and instagram and see for yourself!! Hopefully now that we finally have time we can finally organise a steemit Penang gathering? hehe (fingers crossed)

It's been a pretty hectic week, but it was worth it! I'll share with you guys more on what happened on Radiate in the next posts. Mostly on the sports because my beloved Blue team won!!! :)

It's all confusing I know, I'm sorry. But I'm tired and I want to share so many things to you guys about what happened to the point I'm just unloading everything that happened in this post. If I do that... well... I don't want to do that. So this is just a teaser hehe!
