Community project (skills training for 20 underprivileged youth in Kota Belud)

Its been a month since our Xtreme Academy pilot project has ended.
Xtreme Academy is a social initiative by our company Travel Rite Tours that aims to to provide skills training for 20 underprivileged youth in Kota Belud and turning them into adventure and tourism professionals.

Xtreme Academy was an idea I had for a long time and when I pitched it to my business partner, we proposed this idea to be part of the Host for the Volunteer for Intl Professionals programme under Malaysia's Finance Ministry.

I have always wanted to see this through and it really happened!

It has been a brilliant experience working together with our local and international professionals from the VIP programme. We had 3 Intl volunteers and 2 local volunteers.

This project aims to provide skills training for underprivileged youth from 18 to 35 years of age in Kota Belud and transforming them into adventure and tourism professionals by training them in White Water Rafting/ Trekking, hospitality and service skills. These candidates were chosen based on a few criteria which include they had to be a native of Kota Belud and are unemployed.

A motivational talk and sharing by our director to help motivate our candidates to be more passionate and charismatic in their work.
