Fraser’s Hill - A Wee Family Get Away

Monday’s story- My family and I decided to go for a short break. Our favourite place to visit is Fraser’s Hill, Pahang. We have been here in 2006 and almost everything looked the same. The development rate is so slow and I think that’s why we love this place. What we love about Fraser’s Hill

  1. The cooling climate. There are very little choices of place to visit in Malaysia with a cooling and fresh climate. Fraser’s Hill is one place where you can get that weather!

  2. The flora and fauna. This is the place to visit if you love nature. There are a variety of trees, gardens, vegetables, animals, insects and birds. Its an awesome place for your little one to do research and learn more about them. Although Guru goes learns a government syllabus, we always encourage him to self-learn other things and this is an excellent spot for him.

  3. Nature walks and trails. There are 8 trails and they range from the easy to hard trails you and your family or friends can do. This is an awesome activity as a family if you love some physical activity. We went for 2 nature trails this time. The Hemmant trail which is about 1 km and the Bishop trail which is 1.5km long. The Hemmant trail is mainly wide and level path. The Bishop trail is amazing for nature lovers and bird-watchers. A little longer but you can choose to come off at the Muar Cottage exit point if you don’t want to continue further.

  4. A quiet place. This is an amazing place surrounded by the sound of nature like the bird chirping and the waterfalls. Excellent place for meditation or if you want time for reflection. Plus, not too many tourists come here.

  5. The waterfalls. There is a small waterfalls located in the middle of the forest. The trail to the Jeriau waterfalls is about 20 minutes long. The waterfalls are shallow up to the knee level so it’s pretty safe for young children to take a dip. If you want a bit more adventure for your waterfall experience, the Chilling waterfalls is pretty amazing.

  6. Bike riding. This time, my husband and son had some time riding the bike around. The bikes are in good condition and rent is RM10/hour.

  7. There is a vegetable garden you can have a stroll and buy back any organic vegetable available at that time too. We did not go this time!

  8. Food is generally a bit pricey. Rm 3 to 6 extra on top of what you normally pay. But there are affordable places too at the food court. We would usually bring some extra food before going up the hill as we have a hungry to be teenage boy. We also normally choose to stay at Shahzan Inn as its affordable and comes with a complimentary breakfast buffet.
If you are looking for a short break and don’t want to do much, this is a place to go to! A perfect place to just chill, relax and rejuvenate.

If you are the type like me has car sick going on a windy road, take a motion sickness pill and you will be fine.
