My story about The Power of Giving

I am participating in Tell Your Story 2018 contest.. by @danieldoughty . The link of the contest can be found at the bottom of this story.

This is a real story happened recently that made me believe more in the ‘power of giving’. Although I dislike telling people what I give, but I think this is a good story to tell so others can start or continue to give more!

So, a few weeks ago, I urged my husband @laxmi6 to go for the Steemit training as I know he loves to read …like a lot and this will be an excellent platform for him to share his experience. As he didn’t want to go alone, he called up his friend Vishnu (last time I checked, he still has not receive his password) to go along with him. We knew Vishnu and his family while we were residing in Invercargill, New Zealand. Awesome family to be with as they are the type ‘go with flow’ and easily adaptable to like anything!

Due to family circumstances, both of our family came back to Malaysia few years ago. Since we were back in Malaysia, we hardly met. We are just too busy with life! (excuses). So, when my husband told me he has invited Vishnu to join the training (that was late at night and I was almost asleep), I was thinking in my mind ’Oh great! This is awesome! I feel like I wanted to give them something but I don’t know what to give, perhaps my creations!’ and I slept off!

The next morning, I was making him a cup of coffee and I was thinking in my head ‘What should I give? I must go up and have a look at my collections to decide and time is ticking and hubby is leaving the house soon. How do I leave him and go up to grab something quickly?’ That moment, magic happens! My husband uttered these words to me…going in a very slow motion as my mind was jammed up with lots of thoughts going on at a time.. ‘why don’t you pick something from your collection to give Mindy and her children’ …….. time zapped up fast again …Fuhh! I thought this is simply fantabulous! I told him ‘I was just thinking about the same thing and ran upstairs to find something suitable from my collection! I am just so grateful that we had the same thought and that means it meant to be! So, I took four of my collections and gave my husband to pass it on.

I sent the photos to Mindy and she was shocked! Lol. She asked me how much it was and would pay for it and I told that it’s a gift from us! I was really happy inside to give them my creation! I felt very happy inside of me!
Little I thought what I gave multiplied several folds. A couple of days later, Minder called me up and said that she wore the necklace and a friend asked her about it. Her friend who worked for FMT (online newspaper) wanted an interview with me! I don’t know what Mindy told her but I was like excited and shocked. This is a step up for my wee business! I agreed without much thinking!

The lady from FMT arranged a meetup and I spoke to her about my little venture! Here is the link. It came out last night! I am so happy and grateful to Mindy and FMT. Here is the link... (by the way, its in Malay language)

Seriously, I said what I gave multiplied many folds was also because Vishnu was about to attend a training on cryptocurrency a few weeks ago which he paid about RM4000 was able to bring a long a friend. He called up my husband and asked him if he wanted to join! Hubby was overjoyed as he has been reading and learning about cryptocurrency everyday got an amazing opportunity to attend the three-day course! This is what I call HUAT AH! (Chinese New Year spirit)

Thats a photo of me creating another inspirational piece.

Mum used to say when you give, you get back in many different ways! The power of giving lies when you give without any expectation or intention! The act of giving can start by giving a smile away! With love, lots of beautiful things can happen. One thing I'd like to add about Steemit and Steemians here is I have seen and experienced a lot of giving in this wonderful community! My turn will come soon!
