Activity hiking up to David Station Peak & Mawar Station Peak Sandakan

Gidday everyone...

Discovered an exciting new place yesterday that I hadn’t seen before. I and another hiker explored a few trails within Sandakan itself.

After a short drive from the City Centre we arrived at Taman Mawar.

It’s was my first time to hike up to this place. From the starting point to get up to David Station Peak it took us about 45mins and then about another 10mins to get to Mawar Station Peak.

After a amazing walk through the Forest we witnessed a beautiful view overlooking Sandakan right to the Sulu Sea and we were luckily enough to experience an unforgettable glowing sunset.

We were also very pleasantly surprised from the efforts of our local community in decorating each Station for the upcoming Chinese New Year Celebrations.

Fantastic to get out there , do some exercise while at the same time enjoy the views and beautiful nature.
