Blogging-What's the fuss all about now?
It seems that blogging is 'in' again. Why? What's the fuss all about?
The first time I heard about blogging was during the late 90's, though blogging sites were more popularly known among my peers as 'web blogs'. During that time, I remember that most people treated their web blog as an online diary. Unlike these days, there was still a considerable amount of privacy a blogger or the general internet user enjoyed back then. There weren't many search engines with Microsoft's Internet Explorer dominating the computer systems. Even they too were still in the midst of amassing info and databases of everything and anything under the sun. There were very few integrated online applications such as social platforms, forums and networked internet gaming which allowed for consolidated user information. With a sense of privacy and mystery on the blogger, people were more open to write about themselves and share it to the 'small' digital world at that time. For those of you who can relate with what I've been saying so far (due to the similar age range), have you ever wondered where those blogging or personal online diary sites have gone to?
It is now very difficult to escape the complex web of online connectivity. In fact, when there is limited or no online traces of a person, we find it difficult to comprehend and become suspicious of the person's identity- their real name, age, professional and family background, lifetime achievements, etc. Imagine, you are unable to get a search hit in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn and nothing whatsoever appears in the search engine results when you start Googling for a candidate of a job. Wouldn't you feel suspicious about the candidate, and somewhat anxious when meeting this person for the first time?
Be consciously aware that as we blog in Steemit, we are making a new online footprint of ourselves - adding on to the abundant online data that exists about ourselves through other platforms mentioned earlier herein. Steemit is definitely an example of a blogging technology that has evolved by combining blogging features with the relatively new revolutionary blockchain technology. I suppose the fuss is all because we self-declared bloggers are now incentivised for our blogging. Yaaaay- or nay?
I end with more food for thought about B.L.O.G.G.I.N.G., for my dear Steemit comrades as I don’t have any definite answers to the question about what the fuss is all about when it comes to blogging. In fact, I have some questions that I too wonder about as I embark on a new journey of blogging in Steemit with all of you.
-----------What’s the fuss about blogging all about? -----------
Is it a fad, here to stay or will it continue to evolve in tandem with future technologies of the day? If so, how will it evolve; How do you want it to evolve?
What do you personally expect or hope to achieve from blogging?
Do you see yourself continuing to blog consistently for the next 1, 3, or even 5 years? If yes, awesome! If not- what do you plan to do with all your online Steemit blog posts?
With the proliferation of Steemit users in our community, will we soon begin to ask for people's Steemit ID instead of their Facebook, Instagram or Twitter username, to stay connected online?

<<<And this, my friends, is my 1st Steemit entry. Thank you for reading >>> Be kind. God bless.
Congrats Zyee on your first post. steemit platform is more than just blogging. My experience thus far and still expanding are:-
1.) Getting rewarded almost immediately for your content. Unlike before you got to know the adsense code ,tags and etc to attract readers and only after you have significant followers would you get notice from advertisers.
2.) You will notice people who blog on this platform is more positive and willingness to share their knowledge. Instead of rambling about their problems and the worlds problem like facebook.
3.) There are so many communities in steemit which bring together folks with similar interest and cause. Example in case @teammalaysia, @steemit-cartoon and many more. Building community to support one another and to grow together in their passion.
4.) Many charities and support for the underpriveledge have been initiated through the steemit platform . https://steemit.com/teammalaysia/@myach/a-call-for-help-or-destiny-starting-point-homes

As I'm interested in charitable volunteering work, I hope to use this platform for a good cause soon. I also hope there won't be any abuses on this platform and people get to write freely about their personal thoughts about their life and the world. God bless.
