Chinese New Year - Lunar New Year 2018 - Pictures of Zodiacs
This is just for fun since I walked past it in Singapore. My idea of reading zodiacs is out of curiosity and light entertainment then forget about.
Like the Western Zodiacs, the Chinese also has 12 signs, however instead of 12 signs over 12 months, they have 12 signs over 12 years.
There are a lot of interesting superstitions and beliefs that goes with these, what I like about Singapore is how much they decorate shops, streets, anything with the Zodiacs during this time of the year.
On February 16th we will leave behind the year of the Rooster and enter the year of the dog. With that people have their own beliefs on what kind of year they’ll have based on their own sign along with their compatibility with the sign of the dog.
I walked past this recently and thought it was interesting - hopefully readable here.
There are years listed under each sign to let you know which zodiac is yours. However if you’re born around January/February it’s best to check properly which one is yours. This is due to Chinese New Year following the moon calendar - not the Western calendar. Here goes:
Hopefully you can zoom in to see the text. The Dog.
The Rooster.
The Monkey.
The Goat.
The Horse.
The Snake.
The Dragon.
The Rabbit.
The Tiger.
The Ox.
The Rat.
And finally, The Boar.
Which sign are you?

i'm rooster! I didnt have an exceptional year last year and it stated I should continue to lay low for this year and not try anything adventurous ahaha. Almost every shopping mall has this now!
@lindale would this happen to be your first chinese new year experience in singapore? or are you already very familiar with this tradition ahah
The best way is to only believe it if it's good haha. I was looking for these this year and only found it under MBFC. Sometimes they're really negative so I don't bother, however these were actually nice. :D This is my 3rd CNY in Sg, however since I don't have family here I can see the decorations and things, not quite sure on what they all mean though.
ahh, I hope your colleagues, or friends in Singapore do invite you over to try some CNY goodies or a meal! The CNY atmosphere is really nice, but tomorrow all the shops will be closed aaha
I'm a tiger. These predictions are usually vague and seemingly applicable to anyone. I always take them with a pinch of salt :)
Ooh my best friend is a tiger. They're pretty vague, I only believe them if they're super positive and if it says I'll become and overnight millionaire or something. LOL
At first, when I was young, I was excited about the good predictions, and worried about the bad ones. Later, I ignored the bad predictions and wished fervently that the good ones will come true - the ones where I will come into luck and fortune. Much later on, I ignore these predictions completely. :-)
