HOW TO USE WHALEBOT #1

Many of you are already actively involved on our Team South Africa Discord server - well done guys! It has been an absolute privilege to get know some of you and even more amazing to see how social and friendly us South Africans can really be (especially when sharing our braai photos) 😁🇿🇦

I have decided to do some posts on the bots that are available to you on the Discord server. You know, to give you guys an idea of why they are there and how you can interact with them.

At the time of this writing we have 4 bots linked to our server: Banjo, Dyno, Tatsumaki and WhaleBoT.

In this post we are going to focus on WhaleBoT 🐳 Looking at that pic, I’m assuming WhaleBoT is female - hehe 😉

WhaleBoT was developed by @alexpmorris to try integrate some Steemit features into Discord. Here are some things that WhaleBoT can do and how you can interact with her.

Steemit related chat moderation

You often find people begging for votes and follows on the chat (and you guys know how that is frowned upon by the Steemit community). If WhaleBoT thinks you’re begging for votes or followers she is going to give you a piece of her mind!

Steemit links are also not supposed to be posted in the general chat channel but rather in the postpromotion channel. If WhaleBoT catches you posting your Steemit links in general then she’ll take you on too!

On the bright side, she is then nice enough to repost your link in postpromotion for you 😉

Check Vote Power, Vote Weight and Bandwidth

To check your (or someone else’s) current Vote Power, Vote Weight and Bandwidth, type the following command (replace gavvet with the username you would like to check):
whalebot vp gavvet

That last command will assume 100% Vote Weight. To check a specific % on the Vote Weight, use the same command but add the % (5 in this example) at the end like this:
whalebot vp gavvet 5
