Grandfather's Kite

I was once a little child who used to dream to become a doctor, teacher and even to become a superhero.

My Grandfather is the one who taught me to never give up and continue dreaming. He is my best friend whem I was young, we dance together, eat together, play together and even travel together. He is the best.

He is the one who taught me how to make a kite and how to make it fly. The cool thing is that we are making kites that have faces, my grandfather always ask me to draw a face on our kite and also write my dream. He said that if I do that, God will see what I want to be and help me to reach it.

I believe that it is true, I always will. He also said that if I really want that dream that I wrote, it will really come true. One time, when we made a kite, I drew the face of my father and my own face and I wrote:

"I want to stay to my Grandfather's side forever"

I did not wrote any proffesion, because my dream is to be with my Grandfather's side forever, my grandfather read what I wrote and he started crying, that's when he said that my dream will happen, but I asked him why is he crying, he replied:

"I'll stay by your side forever, my life will not last long. But I promised that I will stay with you forever."

I realized something and asked him again why, why his life will not last long. And his answer struck to my flesh and bones, he said that he is sick and will not last longer, I cried and hugged him. And that's the last time I saw my grandfather, he was took to the hospital because of his sickness, he was confined there for more than 4 months. I am the one taking care of him everyday, I don't want to leave him.

After 4 months in the hospital, I came up with an idea. I made a kite with his face and wrote:

"I hope I can fly this kite with my grandfather again."

I visited him in the hospital and gave the kite to him. I read the dream that I wrote in the kite to him. I was surprised at the moment I finished reading it, he woke up and asked me to come close to him, he whispered:

"I love you, you're my favorite grandson, I hope you will continue flying a kite without me"

That's the last time hearing my grandfather's voice, I really love him, I know that he is always by my side anywhere I go. 😍

"CONTINUE TO DREAM, CONTINUE TO FLY"
