COVID-19 has hit the companies around the world hard, making some close their doors and sending millions out of work, bringing the economy to a screeching halt as unemployment has shot up to records not seen in nearly a century. In April of 2020, the U.S. unemployment rate reached an astonishing 14.7%, the highest ever seen since 1939 and some states are seeing unemployment rates of 25% or higher. On June 8, 2020, the National Bureau of Economic Research officially announced that the U.S. had entered a recession.
