in #tech4 years ago

COVID-19 has hit the companies around the world hard, making some close their doors and sending millions out of work, bringing the economy to a screeching halt as unemployment has shot up to records not seen in nearly a century. In April of 2020, the U.S. unemployment rate reached an astonishing 14.7%, the highest ever seen since 1939 and some states are seeing unemployment rates of 25% or higher. On June 8, 2020, the National Bureau of Economic Research officially announced that the U.S. had entered a recession.

This major economic shift is shaping the economy for the future as one of the ways many are coping with this significant job loss is with remote work. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, as many as 2 in 3 working Americans are now working remotely.

Learn more about the tech demand caused by remote work and what tech innovations will help the post-pandemic economy here.
