In information technology, application software is designed to perform specific tasks according to the needs of the users . The application software is different from operating systems , utility software, and a programming language software. Depending on the work that it has been prepared for, it may be composed of text, numbers, pictures, or all of these. Some application packages can be for a particular computer work that everyone uses the same purpose and it emphasizes only a benefit or purpose such as word processing| Others are called Integrated Software which emphasize multiple benefits simultaneously. Users can do the desired work by using user-created or written software systems, such as spreadsheet templates, word processors macros, graphics or animation scripts. Even email filter is a user-written software Users make it and seeing it again is important for certain purposes.
In some cases there might be a conflict of opinion that the programs that are in the operating system are separate software. As in the case of the United States v. Microsoft, the question was whether the operating system's Internet Explorer is separate software. Another example is the conflict between GNU / Linux. On some systems, it may be difficult for the user to separate the application software and the operating system, because the software is used to run VCR, DVD player or microwave. For this interpretation, some of the big companies may have to exclude applications.
