The enginein reached a thermal efficiency in being 50% as a
conventional engine and 51% in hybrid form .other internal combustion engines are only 30% thermally efficient.

the various systems required to run the engine all takes energy that could potentially be put to use movement of the vehicle.

the sides of the pistons have been polished to a smooth to reduce friction, and narrow grooves cross cut in it to increase scuff resistance.

The cylinder is being designed with a high-efficiency intake port. A high-power ignition coil to burn every last droplet of gas from the injector.

Toyota didnt only concentrate on efficiency and fuel economy. Another benefit of this engine is the enhanced torque. Not only does it produce more torque than the modern equivalent 2.0-liter engine, it begins generating that torque at a lower engine rpm.

Toyota is going to release 17 different version's of engine in 9 different engine 11 different versions transmissions in 4 different transmission and 10 versions of six hybrid systems before the end of 2021
