Kaspersky says porn viewers from an Android device should think twice. According to the company's recently published research, there is a new wave of attack on Android devices. The new attack uses porn as bait and it affected 1.2 million users until now.

Kaspersky said that from the first day that a pornographic content was uploaded to the internet, pornography has always been used as bait for viruses and fraud. In 2017 alone, more than one million Android phones were subjected to different fraud schemes and the losses were 892000$. On another case, a spam network consisting of 90000 bots shared a site that contained a porn virus on Twitter.

Desktop computers have also been attacked 300000 times by porn viruses, but the diversity of attacking techniques on mobile devices is making them more dangerous. Having discovered 23 different Android viruses, Kaspersky says that the vast majority of these attacks use porn for a click bait. These attacks include ransomware and Trojans that target your bank account information.

Kaspersky Lab's research results do not include data on Apple iOS devices.

According to Kaspersky Lab, the most worrying aspect of mobile ransomware attacks is that the malicious software can change your PIN code. So even if you somehow get rid of the malicious software, your phone will be locked.

Kaspersky recommends that users should abstain from downloading software anywhere other than the Google Play Store and should watch porn on well known, reputable websites.

Google's Play Store does not allow adult content to be published by developers. On Tuesday, the company announced that it had removed 700000 applications from the store that did not comply.
