It occurred to me that when you live near something significant you often take it for granted. I further realized that most steemians are in other parts of the world and may not know the following interesting facts about something we use every day in our lives.  

Some facts about “Data Center Alley”... Did you know?   

  • Up to 70 percent of the world’s internet traffic flows through Loudoun County data centers each day.
  • Loudoun is home to more than 75 data centers with over 3,000 technology companies housed within.
  • Ten million square feet of data centers are currently operational or under development.
  • Available incentives include a 6 percent sales and use tax exemption on servers, generators, chillers and server-related equipment.
Loudoun County’s “Data Center Alley” is the world’s largest concentration of data centers, with nearly ten million square feet currently in operation and another three million square feet being planned or developed. · More than 70 percent of the world’s internet traffic passes through Loudoun’s digital infrastructure, making us a key player in the world’s technology economy.
