Apple's Solution To The Biggest Problem Of Their Laptops

in #technology6 years ago

Computers Apple laptops , the MacBook , are for many users the best there: hard your battery much, MacOS (the opposite of Windows operating system) manages its resources very well and, in the case of professionals, Pro models have features and allow to run editing software with certain advantages .

And yet, a speck of dust can spoil one of its fundamental components : the keyboard. Given the low profile of the keys and the mechanism can not be cleaned like the keyboards of yesteryear, many users have seen and wished to get a key to work again. There are many cases on the Internet of the frustration this generates.

Maybe, because of this, or because Apple knew that this could happen, they decided to patent a protection system for the keys of their MacBook. The newspaper The Sun discovered last week a patent of September 2016 that defines a very thin coverage that protects the mechanism of the key from any external dirt and that does not block its operation.

This sheet can work in three ways, according to the patent itself explains, although in the background the idea does not change: a very thin sheet that barely increases the distance of travel of the keys protects the sensitive mechanism without preventing it from working. It is understood quite well with the illustration that accompanies it.

Apple launched the 12-inch MacBook and an even thinner design than its popular MacBook Air in 2015, and just the following year launched a Pro version of this new design line. Both laptops had inside a new system for the keyboard that reduced the distance of travel and allowed the device to lose weight even more.

It was a movement that did not please everyone, because part of the pleasure and precision that comes from using a physical keyboard lies in how the keys move when they are pressed. And although Apple improved its performance in the next year's version , this was never the main problem that many experts put computers, which in the case of the Pro were qualified as little powerful and little thought for the professional audience to which traditionally they directed.

Will Apple implement this solution to the problem of dust under its keys in the new MacBook Air that, supposedly, will launch before summer? It is soon to say, because the company does not usually alter the designs of their products, or key functions such as the pressure system of their keyboards, in such a short time.
