Magnic Microlights - smart bike phone with contactless dynamo

in #technology7 years ago

Completely non-volatile lighting is the dream of any cyclist, but solutions like traditional dynamo machines allow implementing it with a variety of compromises, from increased resistance to driving and ending with tire wear. The Magnic Microlights system is completely free of these drawbacks and boasts additional functions like automatic turn signals and navigation.

To convert a conventional bike into an intelligent one, you do not need bulky gadgets and complex manipulations. All stuffing Magnic Microlights is inside the brake pads, which are supposed to be installed instead of the standard ones. The rear pair serves to indicate parking lights and a stop lamp, and the front pair to indicate turns and lighting.

The principle of action of a contactless dynamo is based on eddy currents arising from the rotation of the metal rim of the wheel. They create a magnetic field, which the coil in the lantern module catches and turns into an electric current. In this case, the cyclist does not feel any resistance, and the performance of the system does not deteriorate in rain or mud. The lantern accumulates energy and shines for a further three minutes after stopping.

Magnic Microlights works in fully automatic mode: the stop lamps light up when the brake is pressed, and the turn signals turn on when the steering wheel is turned. Thanks to the Bluetooth-module the system is synchronized with the mobile application and can give navigational hints for the movement along the route, track the speed, and also due to the built-in accelerometer to fix the impact in the event of an accident and dial in to emergency services.
