ABOUT FIRST GLOBAL
FIRST Global organizes a yearly international robotics challenge to ignite a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) among the more than two billion youths across the world. The not-for-profit public charity provides the framework for an “olympics”-style robotics challenge where one team from every nation is invited to participate in a global robotics event that builds bridges between high school students with different backgrounds, languages, religions, and customs. By bringing these future STEM leaders together in an engaging and collaborative competition that drives home the importance, excitement, and applicability of STEM education, FIRSTGlobal inspires students to learn the skills they will need to make the discoveries their parents and grandparents would consider miracles, impossibilities, or just plain science fiction.
The First Global Challenge was a great opportunity , and I learned a lot from it.
The challenge was not just the robot industry but also the other challenges of the robot industry, such as the power outages at the time in my country ‘ Libya ‘ , when the power cut we were working on programming and when the electricity back we work mechanically .
and the work environment, sometimes the sound of bullets, we had to stop work, the challenge was big and it needed hard work, but Mentor’s team did an amazing job at the time.
The process of making the robot was a very enjoyable and inspiring process, with Yaseen, Kusaiy and Abdulrahman from team members and others as well as some friends from Tripoli University during repeated visits.
During the process of our robot industry we were talking about a lot of things, discussing, arguing, trying, learning.
Maybe I could not go to Washington for the competition, but I’m still really happy.
I tried a lot and a friend from another team gave me a phone number from the representative of FIRST Joey Steck, everyone helping each other to get to Washington for the meeting.
I repeat, I did not go but happy because I got great friends from around the world.
I had ambition and still.
During the competition I and some friends from different teams made a video about the new education culture , STEM : Science & Technology & Engineering and Math .
This is STEM video link .
