Can the Steemit community save Vacuum Tube production in the UK?

in #technology8 years ago

Time is running out to save the original machinery for vacuum tube production in the UK.
The Great British Valve project aims to bring back all the machinery needed to produce valves back in the UK using the tooling from the original Mullard/Blackburn plant.

I dont know how many audiophiles are here, but this is the best chance we have of seeing production of good quality tubes in the UK again.

They have raised enough funding it seems, but now they need the people with the business and marketing experience to get this off the ground.

Perhaps we can find people here that can help? It may be possible for them to use steemit to gain more funding if needed also.

I build guitar amplifiers, and will do a blog on Steemit with my tube amp ive built shortly, i will be very excited if this project is a success, likewise others will too :)

It would be great to see British guitar amplifier companies such as Marshall, Orange and Vox sourcing more parts here. Not sure who owns them all now, but I think they do still build some models in the UK. I assume most tubes are made in China and Russia now.

Nothing like those good old warm glowing tubes. Brit sound needs to get back to the top.
