New Technologies

Every new technology is introduced for make life easier and bring with you even one progress. Unfortunately no technology
immune from being used in the way dangerous.
Think of fire, knife, energy nuclear, and so on. So the question does not is so much about the danger of the medium "self", but in relation to the social structure that uses it. If you prefer, to the degree of morality of the people who use.
History teaches us the new ones technologies, such as the "progressive" laws, are introduced for more than good purposes and remain as long as they remain confined within well-circumscribed areas self monitoring. When these become available to the other most people come generally used in a malicious way or contrary to inventors' intentions.
Coming to a lack of control soon they are regulated for law that, so far, has privileged the their commercial exploitation.
The most recent examples of which I am eyewitness, are the use of "barrack" and the Internet.
The first is a radio-transmitting radio that it works at the frequency of 27Mhz, then a short radius, compared to the one used by the amateur radio that works in long waves and which can send and receive very long distance. Under favorable conditions too overcoming the curvature of the earth.
In the '70s it was used by the radio enthusiasts who exchanged information about their position and type of Appearance used as that frequency band was not used and then freely available.
The intent was to be able to communicate without bureaucratic obligations regarding the technical preparation and use of frequencies special.
Hand as users increased i costs came down with a consequent increase of the people who could buy the "Shack".
When the phenomenon became "mass" the content has expanded and diversified becoming the vulgar ones. With the advent of the Internet this too fashion has passed and the "barrack" has returned to be a useful tool for the Civil Protection and to signal the presence of the forces of order and / or the traffic situation between truck drivers.
The same trend was seen for as far as the Internet is concerned. Born in the field of the scientific research that he ought to have facilitate sharing of knowledge between the various research centers and Universities scattered around the world, it is by now become what we all have under it eyes.
Nobody originally expected his own development, Bill Gates, then administrator of Microsoft had to say that it did not no intention to develop a "browser" as the market would be was very small, at most a few hundreds of universities and research centers.
Soon the contents are increased and diversified by involving a increasing number of users up to become that "mass phenomenon" that all today we know each other.
I do not know if there are any statistics on type of content exchanged on the Net but the news seems to paint a little picture
reassuring.
So the "danger" of a new one instrument should be related to the morality of the users, and here for morality you it means the good of others and not theirs gain. Mathematically P = E / M where P is the danger, and is the effectiveness of instrument and M is collective morality.
In other words, the danger increases increasing the effectiveness and / or the the morality of the morality.
Someone has pointed out that so far the technological progress has not been accompanied by equal progress moral. As I said before it is not of the Dimension of the Old Moral Values: Religion, Ideas, etc .; but of the ever growing affirmation of the
economic and social benefits just or to the maximum of that of your own circle of relatives or friends.
Unfortunately, the finding that is currently the most advanced companies technologically show an increasing tendency to
Personal gains leave little hope.
