Speed of Change: For Better or Worse?
How fast is reality changing and can you keep up with the pace?
Being more of a  realist and having lived in many locations around the world, I see things from a different perspective. I have also participated in various business sectors and other areas of society so my understanding is fairly wide and deep in most cases. Reading on a topic is one thing but participation in that activity will provide insight as to what it is and how it functions.

Technology is rapidly transforming society so that daily routines can be dealt with from a cellphone. If you were born after 1990 you probably are not aware of many things that were different before that date. Due to my age, I have experienced the different phased of technology combined with living in many tens of locations around the world. What may be old in one country could be new in another.  As an example infrastructure. Comparing USA to Europe or Asia the USA is long over due in transportation technologies such as vehicles, trains and the like.

With other advances of technology, such as AI, VR, cryptocurrencies, and robotics we are fast entering a new era of transformation of society. What I can see as the major challenge is that the human species cannot adapt to the planned introduction of these technologies at a fast enough pace. As an example, the Chinese government stated 5 year plan is to employ such technologies to transform the economy. But there lies the problem of where do those displaced workers go to earn incomes? Major players such as Flextronics et al have stated their intention to layoff/fire 10,000s of staff in the coming year. Robots will displace many. And with VR/AI systems that will displace other higher level professions. Unless the education system is drastically changed, where many stay for decades learning theories and outdated information, they will not keep pace in most cases to the changing work environment.

We are reaching that transformation stage in society where something major needs to happened to create a new paradigm so that the human can become or fulfill his or her place in working life.

When walking around town, one can see people with their eyes glued to their cell phone as though all their life comes from it. Smart it is not, and those who believe that a phone knows all is fooling themselves. One needs to master themselves, their thinking and behavior, and know how to seek information whilst also being able to put the pieces together. After that then they are more apt to building a brighter future with or without technology.

So we are at a stage in this reality that we create a workable environment for humans and machines. Remember that AI/VR is not so-called reality but a created reality that could affect your reality. The question is, is it for better or worse?
