Basic IP Address explanation for Newbies

IP is a short from of Internet Protocol. So it is an internet protocol address. An ip address is a recognized each computer to other device via Internet protocol. Some more example about IP I given below.

• It is an unique Identifier
• Unique to you
• Subnet and Host : 2 parts
• IP =32 bites , divided into 4 group or octet for ip version 4
• IP = 128 bits for ip version 6

Two Version of IP
IP version 4 (32 bit address)
IP version 6 (128 bit address)

There are two types of IP
• Public or global Example: 168.172.70.134/29
• Private or local Example: 192.168.10.10/24

Public IP Range
• Class A- IP range from 1-127 for interwork communication
• Class B: 128-191 for interwork communication
• Class C: 192-223 for interwork communication
• Class D: 224-239 Reserved for multicasting
• Class E: 240-254 Reserved for research and experiments

Private IP Range
• Class A: 10.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255
• Class B: 172.16.0.0 -172.31.255.255
• Class C: 192.168.0.0 -192.168.255.255

that is the basic and beginning of IP address. No more today.
