Smartwatch with fitness tracker ability can detect health status, it cannot fully function optimally. One reason is the limited power capacity and wireless connection.

Seeing this problem, Harvard University scientists and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) created a smart tattoo device that could serve as a health sensor of its users. Interestingly, this tattoo does not require any power or wireless connection at all.

the tattoo ink turns out to act as a chemical content that can detect the user's blood condition.

Green ink can know the condition when the user is dehydrated, while the other green ink can change color to brown if the user's blood sugar rise.

This tattoo is also designed "friendly" with people who are not accustomed to using tattoos. Because the tattoo can be installed with a special glue and do not hurt the skin. It can also appear transparent, and will only appear when exposed to outside light.

Smart tattoos that can control the status of human health of this kind, is not the first. Previously, MIT also created a tattoo called DuoSkin that can connect with smartphones. Not only that, this tattoo can also display the output of body temperature as well as send data to other devices via NFC.

According to the research team, the tattoo can be used three things, namely as a trackpad or virtual control to adjust the volume on the smartphone or other devices.

Tattoos can also display the output in accordance with changes in the body temperature of the wearer. Third, the tattoo can also contain data that can be read other devices.
