Russia Is Closing Telegram App
The government has started legal process to stop telegram messaging apps in Russia. Decision taken by Russia's Media and Telecommunications Federation Executive Committee Roscommon
The country's government wanted access to Russian users' messaging monitoring. For this, they had tied up till 4 April. But the Dubai-based app did not respond to it.
Rejecting access requests, telegram says, no one else has access to the service as it has been built.
Basically, Russia's main security agency wants access to the FSB telegram. In order to prevent future terrorist attacks, the app wants to keep an eye on the messaging of users and their messages. But telegram firmly resolved.
On this, Rostomnadzr said, going to legal process at the request of the FSB. The telegram is violating the law.
Telecom lawyer Pavel Chikov said, "The official action taken to stop the application is baseless. Access to users' personal messaging is unconstitutional. Their demand is not met strategically and legally. Source: BBC.
